All our rooms have air conditioning.

Since our hotel consists of naturally formed cave structures, there are stairs to almost every room. Please contact our reservation team to find out your best options with the fewest stairs in each of our room types.

Mostly in the summer. They can be done other seasons, winter too, if there is no rain.

Many of our rooms have views, and you can watch the balloons from your room—as long as their route does not change as a result of weather conditions. But, whatever their route, you can watch from our terraces, the breakfast area, and the pool.

Smaller dogs are accepted in our hotel, but not dogs over 10 kg.

All the rooms in our hotel are non-smoking rooms. However, you could select one of our rooms with a balcony or terrace, where you can smoke. Please contact our reservation office.

Yes. Located within our hotel, Lil’a Restaurant welcomes all diners for lunch and dinner. Please contact our reservation team for reservations.

Check-in is from 14.30 and check-out time is 12.00.

Depending on availability, yes we do welcome photoshoots but, we ask, at times determined by us. Please contact our reservation team for availability and pricing.

Our hotel is not a “starred” hotel. Rather, as a special boutique hotel, it is “special category” certified in the luxury hotel segment.

Our pool is generally private for our hotel guests. We rarely accept guests from outside, but you can contact our reservation team for possible availability and pricing.

Our pool is not a thermal but a heated pool. Open for use every day of the year, it is maintained at a temperature of 30–32 degrees in winter.

The balloons fly 12 months of the year but might be canceled, in any season, in cases of adverse weather conditions like heavy rain, fog, or wind. On average, flights are made approximately 220–230 days of the year.

Our hotel is more suitable for adults because of our living museum concept and our location. Plus we host many honeymoon guests, so guests under 12 are not accepted.

Museum Hotel is situated in Uçhisar, at the summit of Cappadocia. From the hotel there are magnificent views of the surrounding area and sights like Mt. Erciyes, Pigeon Valley, Red Valley, Love Valley, Göreme, Ortahisar, and Avanos. The distances to some of the most important sites in Cappadocia are:  Uçhisar Castle 1km, Göreme Open Air Museum 4km, Zelve Open Air Museum 8km, Paşabağ, and Devrent Valley 10km, Ürgüp 15km, Kaymaklı Underground City 25km.

There are two airports in Cappadocia: Nevşehir (NAV) and Kayseri (ASR). It is easy to reach Cappadocia from either. Nevşehir Airport is 30km from Museum Hotel, and it takes around 30 minutes to reach the hotel. Kayseri Airport is 65km from the hotel, and it takes around 45 minutes.

The busiest time is between April and November, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that’s the best time to visit Cappadocia. As you can see in our gallery, Cappadocia and Museum Hotel have something different to offer in each season.

Museum Hotel was the brainchild of Mr. Ömer Tosun, the chairman of the Indigo Group board, who was in possession of a wide collection of antiques from the Hittite, Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Seljuk, and Ottoman Empire periods. From the very beginning of the project, the idea was that guests would experience “a living museum,” with rooms decorated with artifacts from the ancient past, to give a real feel for living in past times. All of the rooms, the restaurant, lobby, and external areas are decorated with priceless artifacts.

Definitely! The special area where Museum Hotel is located consists of many cave and stone houses that are thousands of years old. It is known that Hittites, Persians, and early Christian Romans lived in the now carefully restored caves belonging to Museum Hotel, while the fabulous, historical Uçhisar Castle sits above. In the Seljuk period, people began to live in houses made from the area’s yellow stone, shaped and sculpted by hand. The area where Museum Hotel is now located is known as the Tekeli district, named after its past inhabitants, the Tekeli clan.

You can have a massage either in your room or on our special private Massage Terrace where both the wonderful Cappadocia scenery and magical hands of our masseuse will envelop you. If you wish (between June and October), you can experience a special massage in one of the hidden and mystic valleys as part of the Valley Experience excursion.

Turkey’s only Relais & Châteaux hotel, Museum Hotel’s à la carte restaurant, Lil’a is like no other. We provide our guests with an unforgettable gastronomic experience, offering rare dishes, local traditional cuisine, the best examples of Turkish cuisine, and elegant service. The views from the restaurant are magnificent. Our head chef, Mustafa Büyükhan, has won awards at international festivals. He and his experienced team together make Lil’a the only fine-dining destination in Cappadocia. In addition, the hotel offers an opulent breakfast, and as a natural result of its unique position, dining at the hotel is enriched by the majestic view over Cappadocia. For more casual dining or snacks, you can also choose to eat around the bar area at any time of the day/evening.

We are more than willing to help our guests by arranging a hot air balloon ride. Just let us know when you would like to go. All balloon rides take place at sunrise, so the actual time depends on the season.

Yes, except for in a couple of the cave rooms, which are naturally cool and thus air-con not necessary.

Yes. All our rooms and suites have high windows and receive plenty of daylight. But we also have some specially designed rooms for those who can feel claustrophobic, so please inform us of your needs when making your reservation.

Cappadocia is a unique cultural, religious, and natural tourism area and a UNESCO world heritage site. Uçhisar Castle is positioned on the highest geographical point in Cappadocia, commanding impressive views of the whole area. As a result, we nestled Museum Hotel into the slopes below the castle to give simply majestic views of the area. Restored from thousand-year-old caves and dwellings, the majority of rooms and communal areas in our unique hotel feature a bird’s eye view of the area. Unlike other hotels in the region, Museum Hotel’s unique positioning on the slopes below the castle means that our Lil’a restaurant, the terraces, bar, and our fabulous Roman pool all have amazing views of Cappadocia. Another benefit of our fantastic location is that each morning around 100 beautifully colored hot air balloons fly over and close by, which affords Museum Hotel one of the best places to watch this daily breathtaking experience. A further benefit of our ideal position, even, is that guests are able to view both sunrise and sunset thanks to the 270° angle of our site. Only Museum Hotel at this special Uçhisar site is able to offer all these benefits.

Of course! As Turkey’s only Relais & Châteaux hotel, Museum Hotel has won the following internationally recognized awards:

Best Luxury Boutique Hotel – Europe, World Luxury Hotel Awards 2015
